A Special Message from Dov and Hal

Dear friends,

People ask us, how did you decide to devote your professional lives to Camp Chateaugay?

For each of us, it was really quite automatic: We love the outdoors, we love working with children and teens, and we think camp is one of the best experiences a child can have – not only for having fun and for their physical well being, but also for priceless lessons that help them grow into mature, responsible adults.

That is why we do all we can to help form a tight camp community here every summer.

A little about each of us:

Hal, owner and director of our great camp in the Adirondacks
Hal – degree in education, former teacher . . . began camp career in 1978 . . . acquired Camp Chateaugay in 1989 . . . spends winters in Connecticut with daughter Claire

Dov – former director of Mad Science in South Florida . . . former director at West Coast Connection travel program . . . now full time director/part owner of Camp Chateaugay . . . home in Montreal when not rock climbing or skiing
Dov, Director/Part Owner of one the best summer camp programs in New York

With a love for mentoring children, Kirsten has been with Camp Chateaugay since 2001.
Her background in social work laid the foundation for her role at camp. She quickly fell in love with Chateaugay and the campers, when she first arrived with her son. Kirsten is a familiar face around camp for the campers to come to for comfort or support when needed. She is always available for campers or parents to speak with.
